This bottling from the Miltonduff Distillery matured for 11 years in an ex-peated Islay wine cask. The result is as adventurous as it is seductive, displaying classic apple notes with pear flavours, entwined with delicate peat smoke aromas and a hint of red wine. The whisky, like its siblings, embodies the spirit of Samhain in a rare, authentic form. The Samhain Series from Lady of the Glen is a limited bottling series from the independent bottler Hannah Whisky Merchants from Fife, founded in 2012 by Gregor Hannah. Each edition comes from single casks of renowned Scottish distilleries from Speyside, Highlands, Lowlands and Islay and is bottled unfiltered, uncoloured and at cask strength to preserve the character of the whisky unadulterated. The range honours the Celtic festival of Samhain, which marks the transition from harvest time to winter and is known for its stories of ghosts and mythical creatures. Each bottle bears a label hand-drawn by Scottish artist Steven Shand depicting one of these legends - including the motif of "The Wizard of Gordonstoun Outruns the Devil", which shows the Wizard of Gordonstoun, Sir Robert Gordon, who made a pact with the devil that gave him supernatural powers. All these bottlings are rare, always limited and extremely high-quality Scotch whiskies that are ideal for collecting but also for savouring.

De Distilleerderij: Miltonduff
Andrew Peary and Robert Bain founded Miltonduff distillery in 1824. The distillery had previously operated illicitly on the site since the turning of the century, but following the passing of the Exercise Act, Peary and Bain established the distillery as a legitimate business operation. After debuting to a successful start in 1866, the distillery was purchased by William Stuart. In 1895 Thomas Yool & Company became part owners of the site, and a few years later Yool went on to completely control the distillery.
