With the Ardbeg Blasda, the limited edition of a slightly smoky malt (8ppm smoke) was released in 2008. Blasda in Gaelic stands for sweet and delicious. With little smoke, the more subtle flavours of Ardbeg come to the fore.

The Distillery: Ardbeg
The Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall. But Whisky was distilled long before that. There are no documentations, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794.
