The French Citadelle Rouge gin from the traditional Cognac distillery Maison Ferrand is made from wheat with pure spring water and a total of 18 botanicals. Distilled in copper pot stills, it is made with juniper, orris root, almonds, fennel, star anise, lemon peel, orange peel, cardamom, violets, nutmeg, coriander, cubeb pepper, spice bark, liquorice, savory, Szechuan pepper, angelica, cumin, rhubarb, cranberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackcurrants. The ingredients release their flavours into the gin for 1-4 days, creating fruity facets with an ideal balance of sweetness and spice. A summer gin that is ideal for gin and tonics.
