This Elijah Craig has been matured in two casks. It was produced in honour of Elijah Craig's innovative spirit. Once fully matured, the Straight Bourbon is aged in a second, specially toasted barrel, adding an extra layer of sweet oak complexity. The Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel is bottled as a small batch Bourbon at 47%.

The Heaven Hill distillery is relativity young for a big Whiskey distillery. It was founded two years after the prohibition ended. In 1935 the Old Heavenhill Springs was founded by a group of investors and the Shapira brothers.     Aroma: Eine Menge Vanille- und Karamellfracht. Verbunden mit Zimt, Zedernholz und Puderzucker. Weicher und "brillianter" im Aroma, als der Standard.

    Geschmack: Kraftvoll, cremig und süßlich: Karamell und Vanille mit Sirup und Schokolade.

    Abgang: Lang. Viel süße Würze (Vanille/Karamell) mit herben, fruchtigen Untertönen.

    Kommentar: Toller Elijah Craig! Die Standarabfüllung kann einpacken! Dieser hier ist viel besser! Die Preis/Leistung ist sehr gut gelungen!

    Kommentar: Der Kollege ist ja mal lecker. Man merkt die Familienzugehörigkeit, und das er etwas anderes ist als so manch anderer Bourbon. Er ist wärmer, dunkler, etwas würziger, und auch die typische Süße ist hier eher "angebrannt". Der Alkohol ist Klasse eingebunden. Danke das wir den nun auch mal offiziell in Deutschland bekommen. Der lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Und das nicht nur für Bourbon - Liebhaber. Glatte 4 Sternchen
