The Glenfarclas Family Casks series contains single cask bottlings of various vintages since the early 1950s. For each vintage, only one cask was chosen to be among the best of its year. In order to continue to offer the full series, there have been several releases. These vintage whiskies are bottled at cask strength and make ideal gifts!

Only a few distilleries in Scotland are still private owned. The Speyside distillery Glenfarclas is one of them. Maybe it’s the best known among them and maybe it’s one of the most successful family owned distilleries in Scotland ever. But for sure the Grants, owners of Glenfarclas, are very proud of the private status as their slogan “The Spirit of Independence” shows. Six generations of Grants have shaped Glenfarclas, from 1865 until today. This guaranteed a constancy of quality and foresight that a durable product as Whisky needs. Kommentar: Sherrybombe mit Früchten und Zartbitter Eiche. Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert.
Einzig der Abgang könnte länger sein. Im gesamten aber ein klasse Glenfarclas Family Cask.

Ja, der Preis ist sehr ambitioniert (daher halber Stern Abzug) - aber der Whisky ist toll. Er erinnert mich an eine gleichaltrige Abfüllung des 2004ers.
Überall Süße und Schwere und auch die Würze der Eiche kommt direkt durch. Ein klassischer Sherry-Whisky.
