This Kilchoman single malt single cask bottling was matured for over 13 years in a fresh bourbon cask and bottled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Hanseatic Wine Trading Company. The casks in The Sister Cask series were distilled and bottled on the same day, hence the name of the series. Six unique and previously unreleased Kilchoman single casks have been carefully selected and released exclusively for the anniversary. This selection includes single casks from the early years of distillation, of which Kilchoman only has a limited number available. These include Oloroso sherry single cask maturations for the first time as well as a 100% Islay malt with an age statement.

The Distillery: Kilchoman
After more than 125 years, the Kilchoman farm distillery is the first new distillery to be built on the island of Islay. At the distillery, which was founded in 2005 and produces a 100 per cent Islay Single Malt, all production steps are carried out on site, from the cultivation of the barley to the filling of the bottles.

Kommentar: gut eingebundener Rauch, kann ein paar Tropfen Wasser vertragen, wird dann deutlich milder und öffnet sich. Der Holzgeschmack ist deutlich hin zur hellen Eiche, für alle die einmal nichts Sherrylastiges probieren wollen. Für mich ein Whisky für besondere Anlässe.
