Kinahan's Irish Whiskey was founded in 1779 by Daniel Kinahan. The company has been family-owned ever since. In 1807, the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland was so enthusiastic about the whiskey that he had all the filled barrels reserved for his private consumption. Even today, every bottle therefore bears the initials 'L. L.'. The Single Malt matured for ten years in freshly burnt-out American oak barrels.
