The Starward 100 Proof is the new edition of the Fortis from the Australian distillery's core range. It matured in American oak casks that were previously filled with red wine from Australia. In the warehouses in Melbourne, the whisky is exposed to strong climatic fluctuations. It is not for nothing that the city is said to experience four seasons within one day: here, arctic breezes from the south meet desert winds from the north, a climate that allows the whisky to mature very quickly and well. The Starward 100 Proof is bottled at 50% vol, which is where the name of the single malt comes from.

The Australian Starward distillery, based in Melbourne, has been producing Whisky since 2015. The founder, David Vitale, has Italian ancestors, but was raised in Melbourne. He cares a lot about his roots, which is why Starward Whisky matures exclusively in red wine casks.
