Product description
The Teeling Stout Cask Finish is an Irish blended whiskey based on the Teeling Small Batch. It was created from a combination of Grain and Malt whiskey and both components were initially matured separately for around 6 years in former bourbon barrels before being married together. This is followed by additional maturation in barrels that previously contained the 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout from the Galway Bay Brewery. This special post-maturing in the stout beer barrels gave the whiskey additional depth and a variety of flavours that goes far beyond the classic Teeling Small Batch. The flavour profile of the Teeling Stout Cask Finish shows notes of dark chocolate, truffles, sour apples and a light sea breeze, which turn into sweet malt, roasted barley, tart fruits and black cherries on the palate. Like all whiskeys from the Irish distillery, the Stout Cask Finish is not chill-filtered in order to preserve its natural character. Cask selection is done by hand and each batch is numbered, allowing for slight variations between bottlings. At 46% alcohol by volume, this whiskey offers a more intense taste and fuller body that emphasises the Teeling Distillery's artisanal approach and experimental style.
