Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is first matured in bourbon casks and then in IPA beer casks for six months. What is special about the Togouchi whiskies is the unique location for the maturation process: In the mountainous region of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi, there is a tunnel that was built by the Japanese railway company in 1970 but remained unused. With a constant temperature of 14°C and a humidity of 80%, it offers good conditions for the maturation of the whiskies. Only 36 IPA casks were selected for the first batch.

The Distillery: Sakurao
The Sakurao Distillery, founded in 2018 and affiliated with the brewery of the same name, is located in Hiroshima Prefecture in southern Japan. The modern distillery produces high-quality Single Malts on two custom-built stills. The hybrid still, which achieves an alcohol content of up to 85%, is particularly noteworthy.

Geschmack: erstaunlich voll, leichte Würze, schöne Biernote
Abgang: mittellang
Kommentar: Toller Blend, der trotz seiner nur 40% geschmacklich vollauf überzeugt; verglichen mit dem schönen Hyde No. 8 (ebenfalls im Bierfass gefinisht), (noch) ausdrucksstärker. Wer die 50€ (Stand Jan. 2023) investieren möchte, wird sicherlich nicht enttäuscht werden.
