Blending is highly valued these days. The many possibilities for innovation and flavour development give the balanced creations of Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson that certain something. The Turntable Paradise Funk is aimed at all friends of exotic fruit notes with sweetish accents. For this composition, a "mystery malt" from Speyside was used and skilfully blended with portions of full-bodied Benrinnes Single Malt, fruity-mild whisky from the small Knockdhu Distillery, some Blair-Athol spice as well as Grain whiskies from Invergordon and North British. It comes neither coloured nor chill-filtered in the modern bottles. The bottling belongs to the recently released standard range of the Stevenson brothers, who are the founders behind the Turntable Blending House.

Aroma: Zuerst kommt eine exotische Frucht in die Nase, die sich am besten als Paradiesfrucht beschreiben lässt, dann auch heimische Früchte, also Birnen, Äpfel, dann etwas Malzigkeit, und das frische Holz zeigt sich durch eine leichte "Schreinerei-Note".
Geschmack: Auch im Mund die exotische Frucht, dann aber anders als in der Nase auch ein süßer Anklang, dann aber setzt vom frischen Holz eine massive Würze ein.
Abgang: Der Abgang wird voll und ganz vom frischen Holz dominiert.
Kommentar: Ganz interessante, gut gemachte Sache.

Aroma: Exotische Früchte (z. B. Kumquats, Banane, Madarine), Mandeln, Butterblumen und leichter Karamellstich.
Geschmack: Delikat, fruchtig und weich: Cremige Vanille mit vielen gebackenen Früchten und einer süßen(leicht sauren) Marmelade.
Abgang: Mittel: Wieder süßlich am Ende mit Marzipan und heller Schokolade (die mit Orangat versetzt wurde).
Kommentar: Der "Paradise Funk" macht seinem Namen alle Ehre! Aber so gut wie "Bittersweet Symphony" ist Er dan doch nicht! Trotzdem ein süffiger/komplexer Blend. Blending House agiert auf einem hohen Niveau: Hoffentlich können sie es halten!
