Aroma Exciting combination of red apple on homemade brown bread with a cup of tea. Citrus marmalade, sparkling white pepper, mixed herbs, cola and sherbet sweets and a hint of lavender in fresh earth.
Taste Spices that dance gently on the tongue, shortbread with lemon and strawberry, black pepper, grapefruit, chilli chocolate, salted crackers, barley sugar sweets, summer fruit compote and liquorice confectionery.
Finish Long and dry, with a lingering gentle spiciness that leads to dried fruit.

Product description
The Waterford Cuvée Koffi is the Irish distillery's oldest single malt to date. Head Distiller Ned Gahan combines a total of 24 single farm origin whiskies from Waterford, which matured for 6 years in casks typical of the distillery. The bottling was named after the French artist Nathanaël Koffi, whose vibrant work of art is reflected on the whisky's label and reflects its rich diversity.

The Waterford distillery was founded in 2015 by Mark Reynier when he converted a former Guinness brewery in the south of Ireland. Reynier, who was previously responsible for rebuilding Bruichladdich and was originally a wine merchant, takes the same terroir-driven approach to whisky as he does to wine. The focus is on the origin-specific character of the grain. However, the ambitious journey came to an abrupt end in November 2024 when Waterford had to file for bankruptcy. read more

    Aroma: Zuerst fruchtig, reife Äpfel, Aprikosen danach übernimmt Vanille und Schokoeis

    Geschmack: Zuerst wieder die reifen, süßen Früchte dann ein paar Gewürze, leichte Ingwerschärfe und ein paar Holzaromen

    Abgang: Mittellang, ein paar bittere Noten bleiben

    Kommentar: Schade, dass Waterfort mit seinem Konzept gescheitert ist und die Whiskys wohl keine Chance mehr zum Alt werden haben
