Titanic Pot Still Whiskey 5 Jaar

The Irish whiskey Titanic was created by former bus driver and lottery winner Peter Lavery. Lavery was initially ridiculed for his extravagant lifestyle, but overcame all prejudices and became a successful entrepreneur who was recently featured in a BBC documentary. After 87 years without a distillery in Belfast, the entrepreneur built and founded the first whiskey distillery there, which opened in 2023 at the historic Thompson Dock, where the RMS Titanic was built. The number 401 on the bottle and the neck of the bottle stands for the construction number of the RMS Titanic, which was built as hull no. 401 at Harland & Wolff, a silent homage to the distillery's maritime history and origins. The imposing building is equipped with Forsyth stills, in which Master Distiller Damien Rafferty distils Irish Single Malt. This 5-year-old Pot Still whiskey was made from malted and unmalted barley and matured in oak barrels before being bottled at 46% vol. as a tribute to Belfast's tireless harbour workers. A German importer has taken over the distribution of the products of Titanic Distillers from Belfast in Germany and Austria.
