The Balvenie Creation of a Classic is dedicated to David C. Stewart MBE. The Malt Master has been with The Balvenie for more than 57 years and is one of the pillars of the company. The Single Malt was matured in American oak casks and then in former sherry casks.

Er riecht malzig, Holz und Vanille,
etwas Honig,
leicht und frisch.

Geschmacklich etwas herber,
fast schon würzig.
Nicht ganz so lieblich wie der Double Wood.
Der hat Ecken und Kanten.

Aroma: Helle Früchte, Orange, Karamell, Vanille, etwas Honig, ein wenig Vollmilchschokolade. Die 43% Vol sind passend.

Geschmack: Sehr rund und weich, zunächst trocken würzig in Richtung Muskat, danach fruchtig werdend, Marmelade und Rosinen cremige Karamellbonbons.

Abgang: lang, zunächst Speichelfluss anregend, fruchtig, dann trocken werdend mit angenehmer Eichenwürze und Kakao.

Kommentar: solider NAS Malt, sehr rund und weich, jedoch wirkt er insgesamt zu zurückhaltend. Die Nase ist sehr vielversprechend, jedoch wären 46% Vol für den Geschmack ideal. Er schafft es nicht sein gesamtes Potenzial auszuschöpfen. Zu diesem Preis leider ein Whisky, den man auslassen sollte. 50€ sind aus meiner Sicht die Schmerzgrenze.

Aroma: Honig, Vanille, Malz und helle Schokolade mit Nüßen. Lieblich und zart ausgeglichen in der Nase.

Geschmack: Weich, süß und schokoladig: Gekochte Früchte, Sherry-Nussigkeit, Vanille-Sahnecreme und Nougat-Honig.

Abgang: Maximal mittellang. Vanille und leichter trockener Sherry ergeben ein volles/komplexes Mundgefühl.

Kommentar: Deutlich würziger/intensiver als der Klassische 12-Jährige. Die 43 Volumen stehen ihm sehr gut, man bekommt allerdings das Verlangen das noch etwas fehlt!! Preis/Leistung könnte etwas besser sein (im Hinblick auf den Preis!). Trotzdem ein guter gelunger Balvenie!

Geschmack: Aromatisches Eichenholz vermählt sich mit Karamell, Hafersirup und warmen Gewürzen.

Abgang: Langanhaltend und trocken mit dezenter Eichenholznote.
