Product description
For the Glencadam Reserva de Madeira, the Highland distillery used American oak bourbon casks for maturation. The malt then matured in fortified wine casks from the Portuguese island of Madeira. The successful combination of cask maturation in conjunction with distillation on two pot stills with upward-facing lyne arms gives this 15-year-old Single Malt a syrupy, fruity and caramelly depth and complexity.

Ein rundum toller Whisky - bietet eine Vielfalt an Aromen - nur ... für mich - ist der Madeiraeinfluss eher wenig dominant - deer Abgang ist süß und nussig und toll -> aber Madeira ... hmmm - habe danach extra eine Flasche Madeira geöffnet :-)

Kommentar: Eine sehr interessanter Malt, der durch ungewöhnliche Frucht-Nuss-Gewürzkomination auffällt. Das Madeirafinish ist ja leider eher selten, aber dann etwas besonderes. Sehr gut gelungen.

Aroma: Karamell und Ingwerkeks mit Noten von Pekannüssen, getrockneter Ananas und Backgewürze.
Geschmack: Ausfüllender Geschmack von Pfirsichkuchen mit Karamellcreme und Sirup, gefolgt von Walnüssen, Pralinen und kandierten Früchten.
Abgang: Branntweinbutter, Hongkuchen und gesalzenem Karamell mit einem Hauch von dunkler Schokolade und Zimt.

Kommentar: Ein fruchtiger, süßer und weicher Whisky. Der Einfluss der Maidera Fässer gefällt mir, eine spezielle Fruchtigkeit.
Sanfte Gewürze lassen ihn schön prickeln. Die Eiche kommt auch ganz sanft mit, Nüssen etwas Kaffee und dunkler Schokolade.
