Laphroaig Elements 1.0 is the first bottling of a new series in which the distillery shows its experimental and unexpected side. For the first in the series, Laphroaig's Master Blender experimented with the fermentation process to give the typical characteristics of the malt more depth and detail, but also fruity, soft and sweet nuances. Elements is made in mash tuns of two sizes and with two types of word, cloudy and semi-turbid. The strong Single Malt was bottled without chill filtration and at cask strength.

Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Laphroaig Whiskies are considered the most smoky-intense malt Whiskies from Scotland.

Kommentar: Sehr sehr guter Laphi! Im Vergleich mit dem CS10-Batch16 viel ausgewogener, komplexer. Alkohol kaum spürbar. Mit Zeit (viel Zeit & Luft lassen!) entwickelt sich zunächst eine schwere, nussige Vanille-Süße, dann Karamel-Schoki und alles mit kaltem, trockenem Rauch verwoben. Cremige Textur, schöner langer Abgang, Wahnsinns-Teil! Leider zu teuer.
