The Selección de Familia by Botucal expands the tradition range of the Venezuelan company with a premium rum. The Destilerías Unidas marry three different distillates made from Virgin Sugar Cane Honey and sugar cane molasses. The sugar cane molasses is distilled in a Barbet Column Still to produce a light rum, a steam boiler processes Virgin Sugar Cane Honey into a medium rum and a copper still turns Virgin Sugar Cane Honey into a heavy rum. 90% of the heavy rum is combined with 5% of the light and 5% of the medium rum and bottled at 43% vol. The result is a rum characterised by honey and red fruits with a gentle vanilla note.
