The Garrison Brothers have set themselves the difficult goal of distilling and also maturing whiskey in Texas. This is not so easy, as it sometimes gets so hot there in the summer that normal barrels can no longer withstand the environmental influences. So the team had barrels made from extra thick staves and was able to bring the first legal Texas Bourbon onto the market.

Kommentar: In Rüdenau kennengelernt und seitdem nicht mehr aus der Privatbar wegzudenken. Bourbon-Königsklasse, die nicht zu teuer bezahlt ist.

Ich bin nicht enttäuscht worden, sehr komplex für einen Bourbon, mit Zeit im Glas verändert er sich und zeigt auch kernigere Seiten wie Roggen und Pfeffer in der Nase, dabei bleibt diese geniale Kokosnote. Kräftig Eiche auf der Zunge ab dem zweiten Sip und trockener werdend im Abgang. Preislich auf dem Niveau des Blanton‘s Gold, und er muss sich vor diesem auch nicht verstecken. Beide sind natürlich keine Schnäppchen, aber wer auf der Suche nach einem Premium - Bourbon ist (zudem noch aus Texas, spricht mich persönlich an weil ich dort war vor vielen Jahren) kommt schwer an diesem oder dem BG vorbei…

Kommentar: Texas war bisher ein blinder Fleck in meinem "kleinen" Bourbon Universum. Also ran an den (nicht wirklich preiswerten) Texaner. In der Nase ungewohnt "tropische Nuancen". Anja schrieb am 9.9.22 es sei Kokosnuss, ich kann da mitgehen, aber eher ein Konglomerat aus tropischer Frucht. Aber das ist ja subjektiv und auch tagesabhängig. Im Mund ist er ölig, weich, packt dann aber ordentlich Zimt und (wenn es das geben sollte) süße Würze aus. Der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden und trägt die Aromen wunderbar. Im Abgang schokoladige süße mit ein paar "Nüsschen". Fazit: Ein toller Whiskey zu einem stolzen Preis. 5 Sternchen für den Geschmack/Aromen, und 3 Sternchen für den Preis.
