The Glenfarclas Family Casks series contains single cask bottlings of various vintages since the early 1950s. For each vintage, only one cask was chosen to be among the best of its year. In order to continue to offer the full series, there have been several releases.

Only a few distilleries in Scotland are still private owned. The Speyside distillery Glenfarclas is one of them. Maybe it’s the best known among them and maybe it’s one of the most successful family owned distilleries in Scotland ever. But for sure the Grants, owners of Glenfarclas, are very proud of the private status as their slogan “The Spirit of Independence” shows. Six generations of Grants have shaped Glenfarclas, from 1865 until today. This guaranteed a constancy of quality and foresight that a durable product as Whisky needs. Aroma: herrlich. Schwere, dunkle Sherry-Noten. Eingelegte Rosinen. Klar strukturiert nicht zu viel verschiedene Aromen, aber die, die da sind, sind total intensiv. Jetzt kommen Holznoten dazu. Nelke. Cognac.

Geschmack: scharf. Sehr süß. Schokolade. Sehr intensiv. Verdünnt immer noch super, Tick weniger scharf.

Abgang: Süß, milchschokoladig. Trocken werdend. Lange.

Kommentar: großartig intensives Teil.
