The Paps' refers to the three mountains on the island of Jura. The Sacred Mountain, the Mountain of Sound and the Mountain of Gold. These tower for miles over the landscape of Jura.
This Single Malt also belongs to the 'Sherry Collection'. It matured in American white oak bourbon casks and received its post-maturation in sherry casks, in which a 40-year-old Pedro Ximénez was previously stored.

Aroma: Voll, intensiv, und komplex. Aufgeladen mit Sherry. Reife Grapefruit, überreife tropische Früchte. Vanillepudding, Karamellbonbon, röstaromen mit etwas Kaffee und Gewürze.
Geschmack: Angenehmer Antritt, rund und weich. Saftige Zitrusfrüchte, vergorene tropische Früchte aber auch Erdbeeren. Eiche ist mit einer schönen Würze da, gerösteter Kaffee.
Nachklang: lang und intensiv. Frucht hält sich, zartbittere Schokolade und geröstetes Malz.
Kommentar: Was für ein toller Malt. Man muss Jura mögen da auch hier noch der Brennereicharakter durch kommt. Wer Jura mag wird diesen hier lieben. Toller komplexer Malt, dem man anmerkt dass er kein draufgebügeltes Finish in seasoned Casks bekommen hat. Einen halben Stern Abzug kriegt er weil er nicht ganz so reif wirkt wie er sein müsste. Hätte ihn jünger geschätzt. Für unter 100€ immer noch ein toller Deal.
