Shakara Thai Rum was named after the Sanskrit word "shakar" for "sugar, sweetness" and is made from molasses. It is aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels in the tropical climate of the central province of Nakhom Pathom, Thailand. Following maturation, it is bottled at 45.7% vol. with no added colour or sugar.
