Aroma Intense fruity notes of ripe cherries and apricots, with creamy vanilla, fine peat smoke and BBQ notes, complemented by aromatic wood tones and spicy oak.
Proef Juicy apricots, red cherries and sweet vanilla cream with warming wood notes, fine spicy oak, white pepper and a hint of ginger, with accents of peat smoke.
Uitgang Long, creamy and spicy, dark fruit jam and fine tannins combine with warming peat smoke, dry ash notes and a hint of cocoa.

Beschrijving van het product
The smoky St. Kilian Signature Edition 'Thirteen' is a rather unusual composition of a total of five different types of wood. Virgin casks of Palatinate oak, Hungarian oak, wild robinia (false acacia), chestnut and cherry were used. The distillery used Scottish peat-smoked malt at 54ppm and matured the distillates from 2016, 2018 and 2019 in the special casks.

Geschmack: blumig, wenig süß, Kirsche und Eichenfass. Rauch dezent

Abgang: mittellang

Kommentar: recht guter Whisky. Die kirschnoten sind eine gute Abwechslung zum scotch den ich sonst gewohnt bin, könnte allerdings ein wenig rauchiger sein für meinen Geschmack. Die angegebenen 54ppm kommen beim Ten viel mehr zur Geltung

Aroma: Die teilweise für Whisky sehr unüblichen Holzarten geben ihm einen sehr eigenen Charakter; man riecht sofort nicht nur den schönen Rauch, sondern auch schon eine ordentliche, recht exotische Würzigkeit; hat auch ein bisschen was Weihnächtliches, ein wenig Lebkuchen, ein wenig Zimt; auch etwas ledrig, also Altherrenzimmer; Fruchtigkeit nur im Hintergrund, Süsse etwas wie Waldhonig.

Geschmack: Im Mund sehr Speichelfluss anregend, eine schöne Süsse verbindet sich mit der Würze der aussergewöhnlichen Hölzer; Alkohol versteckt sich gut unter allem, auch der Rauch ist zwar da, spielt aber keine dominante Rolle.

Abgang: Die hervorragend aufeinander abgestimmte Kombination von Holz und Rauch bleibt sehr lange.

Kommentar: Das ist wieder mal ein unheimlich komplexer, sehr spannendes Meisterstück von St. Kilian.
