Blending is highly valued these days. The many possibilities for innovation and flavour development give the balanced creations of Alasdair and Gordon Stevenson that certain something. The Turntable Bittersweet Symphony is aimed at all friends of spirited sweetness and distinctive malt notes. For this composition, full-bodied Single Malt from the Speyside distillery Craigellachie, matured in sherry casks, was used as the basis. It is rounded off by Balmenach Single Malt from the Pedro Ximénez Puncheon as well as whiskies from North British and Blair Athol from Virgin Oak barrels. It comes neither coloured nor chill-filtered in the modern bottles. The bottling belongs to the recently released standard range of the Stevenson brothers, who are the founders behind the Turntable Blending House.

Aroma: Unglaubliche Sherry-Noten umschmeicheln die Nase, Trockenfrüchte, Nüsse, dunkle Schokolade, etwas Süße, etwas Malzigkeit, alles in allem ein komplexes Potpourri von dunklen Weinnoten.
Geschmack: Im Mund kommt eins zu eins das was die Nase verspricht, tiefe Sherrytöne, Trockenfrüchte, Nüsse, Schokolade, eine gewisse Süße, und dann kommt massiv die Eiche der Virgin-Oak-Fässer.
Abgang: Im Abgang eine ganz intensive, lang anhaltende Eichenwürze.
Kommentar: Super toller, komplexer Sherry-Whisky.

Kommentar: Sehr kräftiger Tropfen, in der Nase und im Geschmack deutlicher Alkohol, sehr würzig und nur im Hintergrund süß. Komplex, aber nicht so richtig ausgewogen. Nicht unbedingt mein Fall, aber vielleicht was für die Herbsttage.
