A recipe with a particularly high single Malt content of 47% was chosen for the Blended Scotch White Heather. The Blend of Single Malt and Grain whiskies comes from different regions in Scotland. The Highlands, Islay and Speyside are represented. As varied as the regions in which the Blend is blended are the types of casks used for maturation. These range from first-fill American oak casks, sherry butts and second-fill hogsheads for pre-maturation to Pedro Ximénez puncheons, Oloroso puncheons and American Virgin Oak casks for post-maturation.

Enttäuschend für das Alter und den Preis.

Aroma: Süße (typisch Grain), Gewürze (Nelken, Muskat, Zimt), Schärfe (Pfeffer), dunkle Früchte (Datteln). Rauch (wie von anderen entdeckt): Null.

Geschmack: Alkohol leider etwas stechend, startet trockener als erwartet und legt sich aufs Zahnfleisch. Die Gewürze von der Nase sind da, Früchte nicht zu erkennen.

Abgang: Trockener, brennender Abgang, viel Holz.

Kommentar: Die enthusiastischen Bewertungen der anderen User kann ich leider nicht nachvollziehen. Der Whisky ist unterkomplex (nicht bei 15 J. erwartbar), wirkt deutlich jünger, der Alkohol ist schlecht eingebunden. Es gibt so gut wie keine Fruchtnoten, dafür viel Holz. Er hat Power, aber kann sie nicht nutzen. Die Herstellerangabe Torfrauch ist ein Witz, reines Marketing. Wo soll der auch herkommen aus dem Glenallachie Universum? Für den UVP einfach viel zu teuer. Für deutlich weniger Geld bekommt man mit dem Johnny Walker Green Label einen deutlich komplextern 15-jährigen.
