The Scapa distillery was closed for many years. In 2004, Scapa was renovated at a cost of several million pounds and since 2005, a team of three has once again been producing malt whisky continuously for us lovers of this relatively rare island single malt.

The 16-year-old bottling is the flagship of the Orkney-based distillery, which is located slightly below another well-known distillery.

Kommentar: Weich, Karamell, Vanille leicht nussig, maritim, Kerzenwachs.
Später dann altes Holz und Pfeffer. Super Whisky, komplex.

Aroma: Nase enttäuschend, wirkt jünger als 16 Jahre

Geschmack: im Mund eine regelrechte Geschmacksexplosion, wie ein aufgehender Früchtekorb

Abgang: mittellang

Kommentar: In Summe seine damaligen 55 Euro wert.

Aroma: Ein leichter, fruchtiger Whisky. Ein wenig Honig ist ebenfalls wahrnehmbar.

Geschmack: Ausgewogen. Vielfältig, nicht scharf, Vanille ist deutlich erkennbar, Eiche. Ananas lässt sich deutlich heraus schmecken. Dezenter Hauch von Ingwer.

Abgang: Sehr lang, sehr angenehm, nicht scharf. Die Aromen halten sich eine Zeit lang.

Kommentar: Ein absoluter Spitzenwhisky den man unbedingt probieren sollte. Leider wird er nicht mehr abgefüllt.
