The Wolfburn 'Langskip' was named after the Viking ships that once ruled the seas off the north coast of Scotland. Maturing in first-fill bourbon casks gave the Single Malt depth and smoothness.

Wolfburn
Wolfburn is the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland. It was originally built in 1821 but had to close again in the course of the 19th century and today only ruins of the old complex remain. In 2011, a new distillery was built not far from the ruins and in the meantime the production volume has returned to the same level as in the 19th century. The logo features a wolf, whose related mythical creature, the so-called 'sea wolf', is said to bring good luck to all those who set eyes on it. In the 16th century, when the drawing for the Wolfburn logo was made, there were plenty of wolves in the area. en savoir plus

Aroma: Lebendig mit Noten von Ingwer, Orangenblüten, gemälztem Getreide und kandierten Mandeln

Geschmack: Am Gaumen Noten von dunkler Schokolade, Vanille, Aprikose und Sultaninen

Abgang: Mittellang und warm mit säuerlichem Apfel und gestoßenem Pfeffer

Kommentar: Obwohl dies ein Whisky ohne Altersangabe ist, ist dieser kraftvolle, würzige Dram seidig weich und frisch

Aroma: Clove Spices Blackberry Coconut Black Currant Malt Vanilla Sweet
Spannende Nase: eher unübliche Beeren (dunkle, leicht bittere wie schwarze Johannisbeere und Brombeere), dazu Gewürze und erst dann mit der Zeit malzige Süße und das übliche Vanillearoma. Lecker!

Geschmack: Malt Hazelnut Blackberry Black Currant Sweet Spices
Süße dunkle Früchte, auch hier die leichte Bitterkeit, gut aufgewogen durch die Süße vom Malz, dazu Haselnüsse.

Abgang: mittellang, malzig-vanillig.

Kommentar: Ungewöhnlich, macht Lust auf mehr von dieser Destille.
