Woodford Reserve Double Oaked was matured in two different oak casks. After the first barrel maturation in the specially handcrafted white oak barrels, it is matured in another barrel that has been toasted longer but burned out shorter.
Woodford is the only American distillery that triple-distils its whiskey in traditional Pot Stills.

La distillerie: Woodford Reserve
Woodford Reserve is a very unique Bourbon distillery at Versailles, Kentucky, different from others. In contrast to common Bourbon distilleries that work with continuous stills they have three pot stills here to create a triple distilled aromatic Whiskey. Among the Bourbon distilleries in Kentucky Woodford Reserve is the smallest one. And if you look at the nice grey stone buildings in the very charming setting you also may agree that it is the most beautiful one.

Aroma: dunkle Früchte, Nüsse, Vanille, süße
Geschmack: Honig, Mandeln, Haselnüsse, Brombeeren
Abgang: langer Abgang mit Marzipan, angenehm mild
Kommentar: Bourbon war bisher nicht so mein Fall, aber dieser Woodford hat mich komplett überzeugt. Ein wirklich super Whisky. PLV ist auch okay.
