Beschrijving van het product
The St. Kilian Classic is a combination of Single Malt whiskies, 70% of which were matured in former bourbon casks and 30% in ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky, which is neither coloured nor chill-filtered, is bottled with an alcohol content of 46 % vol. and filled into a 700 ml bottle in the usual Pot Still design. Balanced sweet fruit notes and spicy oak flavours meet.

Aroma: Der erste Standard-Whisky von St. Kilian erfüllt die Erwartungen, die man an ihn hatte; eine schöne satte St. Kilian-Birne begrüsst die Nase; das war einfach ein Muss; ohne die Birne geht ein St. Kilian als Standard nicht; die Birne ist aber schon ein bisschen angereift und nicht mehr so frisch; dazu etwas Zitrusfrüchte, etwas Malzigkeit und ein bisschen Caramel.

Geschmack: Sanft, zart und total süffig auf der Zunge; zeigt auch hier eine leichte brausige Süsse und dann etwas Zitrusfrucht und ein klein wenig Malz; schön rund und süffig, nicht allzu komplex, aber sehr angenehm.

Abgang: Aufgrund der Jugend gestaltet sich der Abgang etwas kurz, aber das passt so.

Kommentar: Ein St. Kilian-Standard der die Erwartungen an den ersten Standard voll erfüllt.
