Laphroaig stands for intensely smoky malts - so it's no wonder that the Islay distillery places great value on its own peat. The peat, cut by hand, is first dried for three months and then used to dry the grain on Laphroaig's own malt floors. In the live tasting, we taste three of the smoky creations: The 10-year-old Classic, the Lore partly matured in sherry casks and quarter casks, and Select with proportions of all the well-known Laphroaig bottlings (10 years, PX Cask, Quarter Cask and Triple Wood).

Kommentar: Super PLV, auch wenn ich mit dem Thema "Rauchige" Whiskys erstmal hier anfange. In meinen Augen ein starkes Stück, was mitunter viel auf dem Kasten hat (Geruchlich Rauch und auch ein klein wenig Süße gepaart mit Nüssen und auch einer alkoholischen Note, Geschmacklich bleibt der Rauch präsent, die alkoholische Note verfliegt etwas und was übrig bleibt ist immer noch eine Packung Rauch, ein wenig Pfeffer und eine Herbheit) Alles in allem bekommt man hier einen Islay-Whisky der schon ordentlich abliefert.

Kommentar: Überragender klassischer Islay-Stinker, im Phenol-Bereich unerreicht bis heute. Gehört in jede Bar. Rauch & Jod stets dominierend, im Abgang dazu ein klein wenig Süße. Alkohol nicht spürbar. Super-Preis!
